Reiki - What is it? and how does it work?
Reiki is a Japanese term that encompasses that the universal life force energy pervades everything in Creation. Dr. Mikao Usui uncovered ancient formulas for accessing that energy force and the ability to pass it on to others.
The word Reiki is a two part Japanese term that loosely translated means Universal Life Force Energy. The first part REI (pronounced RAY) describes the universal, boundless aspect of this energy. The second part KI (pronounced KEY) is in itself a part of REI, being the vital force which continues to flow through all living things.
Reiki is not a religion or cult and will not conflict with any religious or spiritual beliefs that you have.
Anyone can learn Reiki. The ability to learn Reiki is not dependent on intellectual capacity, nor does one have to be able to meditate.
It does not take years to practice. It is simply passed on from teacher to student. As soon as this happens, one has Reiki and can use it.
Reiki is a pure form of healing, not dependent on individual talent or acquired ability.
Reiki is however a concise spiritual discipline. It can become a path, a way of living and a connection to the destiny of All That Is.
Reiki is Creation...... It is a pure vibrational spark of life that exists in all matter.

Reiki is taught in different stages or degrees. For the new student, the initial step is to undertake 1st Degree Reiki Training. This includes full initiation into the Reiki Lineage.
The 2nd Degree training takes the student a little deeper into the system. (you will be able to access and use more Reiki symbols)
The final discipline is that of the Master/Teacher. This is a step not to be hurried or taken lightly. The roll and title of Reiki Master is both an honourable and a humble one.
The Program - Reiki First Degree - 2 day Workshop
Students will receive a folder containing notes and you will be initiated into the Reiki Lineage, including hands on practice of the positions needed for a basic Reiki Treatment. You will receive a certificate and become a Certified Reiki Practitioner.
Symbols play a very important roll within the system of Reiki. Without at least a basic understanding of symbolism and its practice, it is in my opinion that the student who chooses to proceed no further than the 1st Degree, has limited opportunities to discover Reiki's full potential. For this reason 1st Degree Reiki students who do their studies with me are given access to, and an understanding of the Choku-Rei Energy Spirals.
During the course students will also learn the setting up of a sacred space, grounding - its application and use, the proper benefits of breathing and the importance of preparation.
